The National Memorial Arboretum at Alrewas and Future Developments

The Arboretum and its stunning and moving Armed Forces Memorial, is now one of the top three visitor attractions in Staffordshire, drawing in 350,000 worldwide visitors in a year.

The NMA is an important landowner in Staffordshire’s economy and very much engages in partnerships with local farmers and rural businesses. It is committed to local sourcing for its catering outlets and is building a high reputation for environmental reclamation and management.
We are planning a follow up visit in the spring to the NMA to look at the principles and lessons that can be applied to our members’ enterprises and this evening will be of great interest. Hub Chairman, Eunice Finney, will explain the WFU led project to erect a memorial to the wartime Land Girls and Timber Corps, who finally received recognition for their wartime effort from the government just two years ago.

A short AGM will be also held during the evening.
