Staffordshire Federation of Young Farmers Clubs are celebrating their Diamond Anniversary with a sparkling event in the Spring. The “Diamonds are Forever” Dinner Dance is being held on Saturday 10th March 2012, at the Ingestre Suite, County Showground, Stafford. The evening will consist of a 4 course roast dinner, an Auction and Raffle, Casino Tables and the traditional YFC disco set up by Bruce Salt who will be playing until 1am. Members past and present from across the County and further a-field are asked to contact Julia Taylor at The County Office as soon as possible if they would like to arrange tables and tickets.
Dave Bull, Staffordshire YFC’s current County President said “we’d like to make this celebration a night to remember and to reunite many old and new faces that have been part of the fantastic organisation that is, Staffordshire YFC”.
Alexandra Mackellar, Staffordshire YFC’s current County Chairman said "it is going to be one of the main events of the year which will see members past and present getting together to celebrate the past 60 years of the Staffordshire Federation in style. As County Chairman for the Federation, I am very proud to see it still being one of the best Youth Movements in both the County and Country. We are getting stronger every year as more and more young people come and volunteer with us."
Currently, the Federation has 500 members across 10 clubs in the County – Ashley, Chase, Cheadle, Eccleshall, Leek, Lichfield, Ridware, Stone, Uttoxeter and Waterhouses. Members who are aged from 10 -26 years enjoy a varied programme of activities ranging from sports and socials to floral art and cookery within their Clubs and the County. Anyone can be a member of Staffordshire Young Farmers. It is emphasized that you do not have to be from a farming background. Anyone who is interested can contact the County Office on 01785 248645 or email countyoffice@staffsyoungfarmers.org.uk for more information.
