Farmland Bird Project – The Wealds
The Wealds farmland birds’ project is an exciting project working closely with farmers to stabilise and then increase the number of farmland birds. The project concentrates on six farmland bird species, as well as breeding waders which used to be a traditional sight in the Wealds farmed landscape.
We would value your participation and contribution in order to help increase bird-friendly habitat on farms. In order to launch the Project we are holding a Farm Walk on 15th July at Wickets Farmhouse, Cheshire Coppice Lane, Admaston, Telford, TF5 0BS. The event starts at 6.45pm with a farm walk showing a range of farmland bird options from fallows to wild bird seed mixes and pollen and nectar mixes. It is a good opportunity to see these options in practice and talk to the agreement holder and NE staff about best practice and the problems encountered and solved.
