Enthusiasm for conservation, effective management, restoration and creation of new habitats are some of the factors that led to John and Yvonne Hart winning the Conservation Competition for 2010 on their holding set in the glorious South Shropshire Hills AONB.
A vast range of habitats are provided on the farm, with biodiversity set in its natural state , including hay meadows, unimproved grassland, hedgerows, and streams providing an abundance of wildlife. The holding is part of the Higher Level Stewardship Scheme, which has assisted with the integration of the conservation management within the farming enterprises, which include a flock of Texel sheep, and cattle. Supporting the farming business the Hart’s also have a holiday cottage business, and run rural craft courses in a converted stable block on the farm together with a plant nursery specialising in kitchen and cottage garden plants.
Join us and visit a most unique part of Shropshire, within the beautiful Hope Valley, a
naturally stunning site that is rich in history, flora and fauna.
