FWAG Guided Walk at Mottey Meadows SSSI
Mottey Meadows is a series of alluvial flood meadows which have been managed as hay meadows for many centuries. Grassland in the meadow supports over 240 species of flowering plants, including the rare snake’s head fritillary, ditches are home to plants such as common meadow rue, yellow flag and water mint. A number of invertebrate species, including the rare horsetail weevil, and many wading birds such as snipe, curlew and lapwing, can be seen in the meadows.
