Grain Storgae Seminar
A recent survey coordinated by the NFU has revealed that 200 farmers in our region are interested in some form of collaborative grain storage. A series of short meetings have been arranged and cereal producers are invited to attend to consider the results of the survey and the merits of collaborative storage.
Wednesday 17th March
YFC Centre, Hawford, Worcester, WR3 7SG
1:00pm to begin with lunch.
Please come along if you want answers to the following questions:
- What do farmers in your region think about collaborative storage?
- What are the long term trends in cereal demand and how can collaborative storage help to meet it?
- What are the advantages and disadvantages of collaborative storage in comparison to on farm storage?
- What is involved in becoming part of a collaborative storage business?
- What are the financial implications of collaborative storage and are grants available to fund buildings and equipment?
The English Farming & Food Partnership (EFFP) have been working with the NFU on this project for some time. Two members of their team will be presenting their views and will be on hand to answer any questions you have. Neil Adams has been an independent advisor to thirteen central stores in the UK for the past three years and will share his experience at the meetings. Stuart Thomson has been working with a number of leading millers, malsters and feed compounders to develop agreements and working arrangements that give greater security and enhanced returns along the supply chain.
