Workshop 1 - Carbon reduction through packaging eco-design
9th November 2010, 8.30am - 12 noon
Working in partnership with West Midlands Centre for Construction Excellence (WMCCE), Business Link West Midlands are delivering a series of practical workshops that focus on ways in which you can minimise packaging by applying the principles of Eco-Design and Resource Efficiency. You will:
- Gain an understanding of the drivers for sustainable packaging design
- Learn how to approach packaging re-design to reduce costs and carbon footprint
- Hear practical examples of where companies have made significant financial savings through the implementation of packaging efficiency measures
- Gain a clear understanding of the support that is available to help you with packaging efficiency projects.
Workshop 2 - Small scale renewable energy options for business
26th January 2011, 8.30am - 12 noon
Working in partnership with the Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS), Business Link West Midlands are delivering a series of workshops that will provide you with an overview of the available small scale renewable energy options, along with an update on the latest government incentive schemes. You will:
- Gain an understanding of the policy drivers for renewable energy technologies
- Gain an understanding of what renewable energy technologies are available to SME businesses and the practical issues around retrofitting
- Hear practical examples of where local companies have successfully invested in small scale renewable energy technologies
- Gain a clear understanding of government incentive schemes such as Feed in Tariffs (FITS).
