Job Vacancy - Small Woods Asscoiation Project Officer
The Small Woods Association (charity no 1081874) is seeking a project officer with knowledge of the forest/woodland management industries to deliver an Ancient Woodland Restoration Project in the Northern Marches Leader area.
The project will be a multi-functional project to address habitat degradation in conjunction with promotion of timber markets in particular the wood-fuel supply chain. The work will support business growth in this sector through 12 knowledge transfer events to stimulate capital investment proposals and the development of new skills particularly in relation to small / ancient woodland management and wood-fuel management and processing.
The post is part time (2 days per week) based at Small Woods headquarters although the majority of work will be field based. The post holder will have a good understanding of woodland management, and be able to demonstrate delivery of projects on time and on budget. You must have the knowledge, enthusiasm and commitment to deliver a wide range of outputs including training/advice and will be well organised with ability to meet deadlines for submission of written work and delivery of events. You will need to engage and inspire woodland owners and associated businesses to motivate further land management and business development in accordance with the project objectives.
