Mon 9th May, 11.00am - 3.00pm, at Bishops Frome Village Hall
The Nutrient Planning and Record Keeping workshop has been designed to help dairy, beef, sheep and arable farmers get the best out of fertilisers and manures.
This is a practical workshop which will help you set up a system for on-going annual planning/record-keeping for each of your own fields. It is designed to enable you to meet record-keeping requirements if you are in an NVZ area and want to make maximum use of expensive nutrients.
To get the most out of the day bring along as much of the following information as possible. For each field you intend to use as an example (at least one field), make a note of:
• the previous year's crop, and yields (if arable)
• this year's crop
• records of bag fertiliser and manures applied 2009/10
• any planned or applied manures/slurries for 2011.
If you have an extensive grazing system, we can discuss how to make the most of Nutrients in manure.
Please bring along a calculator/pen/paper and your RPA maps (copies) may be useful too.
If you have a pack of NVZ booklets could you bring them along please. Otherwise order them from Defra library – tel: 020 7238 6575 and ask for PB 12736.
Light lunch & refreshments will be provided.
This event is registered for NRoSO points
