Orchard Management (Traditional Orchards) in Herefordshire
The event will include practical demonstrations and activities covering the following topics:
• Tree Planting - Choice of varieties
Rootstocks
Planting
Staking
Guarding
Early years maintenance
• Management of older trees
• Wildlife of traditional orchards
• Grassland management in orchards
• Hedge management in orchards
Please can attendees bring along the following tools if they have them:-
Spade, Pruning saw, Claw hammer, Loppers
Spare tools will be available if you are not able to bring your own.
Lunch will be provided
