Policy
The Hubs have an invaluable role as the preferred point of contact for business, government and individuals, on rural economic issues; in raising awareness of new opportunities and factors affecting rural businesses, not least farming and food production opportunities. We work through means of demonstration and advocacy visits with agencies and government departments, meetings with politicians, relevant to priority themes and issues facing the region's rural economy: using events, activities and shows where appropriate; working through our many partnerships, including the Think Food & Farming Group, for which we provide a secretariat. We promote the successes of the RDPE; and particular funding opportunities to potential applicants through the media; meetings, clinics, on farm visits; newsletters and our strong networks of partner organisations and businesses signposting to the hub’s services. Our County Chairmen and committee members are grounded in their communities and business communities, with a wealth of experience - and represent the Hubs and rural industries on many regional policy making groups.
We welcome your alerts to topical policy issues to publish on our website or through a link; and to any issues you feel should be picked up by our officers and committees.
