Safe Use of Veterinary Medicine Level 2 Course

Walford and North Shropshire College is delivering  a one day course Safe Use of Veterinary Medicine Level 2 on the 8th December 2011 9.00am – 5.00pm. The course will be delivered by Alistair Macpherson of Macpherson O’Sullivan Ltd  and will include both theory and practical sessions

This qualification is important for those who may be called upon to administer veterinary medicines, as the health of the carer and the public could be affected as well as that of the animals concerned.

The course will place emphasis on the candidates complying with animal welfare codes of practice and particularly the “Five Freedoms” as interpreted by the RSPCA :-

• Freedom from thirst , hunger and malnutrition
• Freedom from discomfort
• Freedom from pain, injury and disease
• Freedom to express normal behaviour
• Freedom from fear and distress

The training and assessment is divided into two compulsory units

1. Safely store and administer veterinary medicines- practices
2. Principles of storing and administering veterinary medicines

The cost is £50.54 per person this is the total fee for training and both practical and multiple choice assessment. A light lunch is included.

To be eligible for the above training you must be involved in beef or sheep farming for 50% of you time within the West Midlands region
