Site sought by Perry Group Riding for the Disabled Association
The Perry Group is a Member of the Riding for the Disabled Association and provides therapeutic riding and carriage driving for children and adults with disabilities and learning difficulties in Shropshire.
The Perry Group is proposing to develop a new equestrian centre incorporating an indoor arena, outdoor manege, stabling etc., in order to better deliver its services. In order to facilitate this, it is looking for an area of land to purchase or to rent on a 25 year lease with an option for a further 25 year term. It is understood that the Group would be responsible for obtaining planning permission and agreement to purchase/lease would be subject to a suitable planning permission being granted.
Ideally the site would meet the following criteria:
• Comprise a single block of relatively level land extending to 10 acres of thereabouts;
• Have a sandy / light soil type suitable for grazing by horses;
• Be located within a 15 mile radius of Shrewsbury;
• Have a suitable vehicular access, or reasonable potential for the formation of a suitable vehicular access, for cars and HGVs onto a pubic highway with good links to the A-road / trunk road network; and
• Not be subject to, or affected by, any statutory or non-statutory designations which would be likely to preclude the grant of planning permission for an equestrian development of the type and scale proposed (e.g. RAMSAR Sites, Sites of Special Scientific Interest, Conservation Area etc.).
Both greenfield sites and sites with existing buildings would be considered.
