Small Scale Wind Power Systems – A Practical Guide
Tuesday 8th June 2010, 9.00am – 4.30pm
Harper Adams University College
Edgmond, Newport, Shropshire, TF10 8NB
Following on from previous successful Bioenergy Workshops at Harper Adams University College, the sustainable development team are pleased to offer a workshop entitled ‘Small Scale Wind Power Systems - A Practical Workshop’. The College will be running the practical workshop in conjunction with Encraft Limited, independent consulting engineers. It will introduce businesses and organisations to a practical approach to assist with the decision as to whether or not to install a wind energy system. The Course Leader for the workshop will be Graham Eastwick, Encraft’s Technical Director. Encraft are a leading renewable energy consultancy based in the West Midlands with experience of many small wind turbine installations around the UK. Recently, Encraft ran the Warwick Wind trials a national study analysing the performance of small building mounted turbines.
The cost of the workshop is £50 as it is presently subsidised training.
Why you should attend the seminar:
If you are a farmer, small/medium sized business, landowner, rural enterprise, voluntary organisation or any type of concern who is considering the possible installation of a wind power system in the near future then this is the workshop for you. It is a practical day that will include project planning, choice, design and layout, fuel specifications, economics and consent issues.
Delegates are encouraged to bring along project ideas or building size specifications they may have so that the ’pros and cons’ of a wind power system can be considered at their property or business site.
Who should attend?
• Farmers, small/medium sized businesses (SMEs), landowners , voluntary organisations, rural enterprises, not- for profit organisations
• Businesses considering the merits of whether to install a wind power system to reduce reliance on fossil fuels.
To register simply email: Gaynor Orton on: gorton@harper-adams.ac.uk or Tel: 01952 815 019, giving your name, business name, contact details and workshop date. A full booking form will then be sent to you for completion, and should be returned with a cheque for £50.
Places will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.
