Small Woods Northern Marches Project

The Northern Marches Project is an ancient / small native woodland restoration project over two years funded through EU and DEFRA. The aim is to stimulate economic growth within the Northern Marches Area – South West Cheshire and North Shropshire through the RDPE.
Heartwoods is a project of the Small Woods Association and has considerable expertise in the management of existing woodlands with our team of trained foresters.
The Northern Marches Project focuses on improving the condition of existing woodlands through practical advice and can help owners to identify markets to stimulate management activities such as wood fuel.
We offer free support to help you with:
• Advise on woodland management and restoration
• Information and help with finding suitable contractors and equipment suppliers
• Guidance and support with woodland grants that are currently available
• Timber marketing support and guidance
