Soil Structure Walk at Lillands Farm, Herefordshire
A follow-up with Simon Draper.
There are two sessions, and you are invited to attend either one or both.
Both sessions are on Thursday 16th February
10am-12.30pm at Lillands Farm, Little Marcle, HR8 2QQ
and / or
2pm – 4.30pm at Hampton Wafre Farm, Docklow, Leominster HR6 0SN
This meeting is targeted at re-visiting fields which were subsoiled in the autumn, and looking at crop growth following the winter to see if any benefits can be visually detected at this stage. We will also walk a series of fields to determine the state of the structure wand what needs to be done to correct the soil structure this autumn, so that a ‘soil plan of action’ can be produced. The sessions will be very practical, learning how to identify the soil structure of the ‘problem’ field so that we can compare and contrast through a discussion, the soil structures and what we should do about them.
Light refreshments & tea/coffee will be provided
Please ensure that you have suitable clothing and footwear for the outside.
