Join the Herefordshire Rural Hub Soils Group
We would like to bring together a Soils Group, with discussion topics and activities determined by those who are attending.
The purpose of the group will be twofold:-
- To allow farmers to discuss their soil issues and learn from one another.
- To attract key speakers who can provide practical information to help you to
manage your key resource - soil.
The first meeting will be held on:-

We are delighted to welcome as our speaker, Simon Draper, an agronomist from the eastern counties who is a national soils expert.
Topics to be covered include:-
- soil types
- soil structure
- the do's and don'ts for managing soil effectively
- how to get a bigger yield
- the new Soil Protection Review - how to identify, remedy & record
This will be followed by an on-farm practical event on 30th March 2010, to put in to practice what you have learned.
