Staffordshire Hub Pie and Peas Supper and Regional Cheese Tasting - Tuesday17th November, at Amerton Farm, Stowe by Chartley, Uttoxeter. The AGM will be held before the supper. International cheese judge Lavinia Newell, will give a talk about the Resurgence of Regional Cheeses and guests will get the chance to taste some fine examples, including samples from Staffordshire’s own cheese makers, including award winning goat and sheep cheeses.

EFFP's Annual Conference - Farming and food businesses come together to discuss farm to food issues. 'Routes out of Recession' is on 3rd November 2009, Plaisterers' Hall,London, 10.00- 4.00. This conference will tackle questions including:What will happen to the domestic supply of my raw materials? How can I work with suppliers and customers to improve my business performance? Which businesses have been successful in tackling the recession and what can I learn? What are the investment opportunities in farming and food? Managing risk & volatility - what do I need to know?
FARMING CONFERENCE - Thursday 19th November 2009, 7.00pm Severn Hall, Malvern Showground. Two main speakers renowned for turning a goal into a reality and improving the awareness of knowledge from farmer to customer: John Geldard, Livestock farmer and creator of the Plumgarth’s brand, John was presented with the ASDA Award for Supply Chain Excellence and crowned the 2007 Farmers Weekly Farmer of the Year; Guy Smith, Chairman NFU Eastern Regional Board, a keen advocate of improving the way the industry promotes itself to the non-farming public and to schools.

With over 70 independent local producers, Flavours of Herefordshire is a real taste of the region. BBC Good Food Show NEC Birmingham - 30 October – 1st November 2009 Tastings from wine experts and the Great British Food Festival as well as presents and foodie treats for Christmas. HEFF is inviting chefs to inspire visitors to use local and regional food by demonstrating in the HEFF Cookery Theatre. The HEFF cookery theatre will include food and drink producers from the West Midlands. The area will being getting significant publicity through a PR campaign. National School Meals Week (NSMW) provides a platform for school caterers to drive up school meal numbers and promote the importance of healthy eating to young children and parents. Monday 9th to Friday 13th November 2009. This annual event run by LACA will use the new tools of digital marketing to communicate with its key audiences. There will be online competitions, a vote to find Britain’s most popular school lunch, a way for primary school pupils to say thank you to their catering staff and the chance for secondary students to make an ad that promotes healthy eating to their friends.
