An exciting event to explore new and different ways of getting your product to market.
This action packed day provides a fantastic opportunity to hear from an array of speakers – both producers and users of local food. There are many different routes to market, and each route has benefits and pitfalls. The speakers will talk about their own experiences, giving you the confidence to consider new options and try different things. The programme will cover Farmers Market retail, shop retail, large supermarket retail and selling to restaurants and eating places.

10.30 Accompanied tour around Lichfield Farmers Market: benefits, pitfalls, seen and unseen costs, your pitch and making the most of it, including a practical exercise with Business Link
11.15 Questions with Rachel Clive, Lichfield City Council who runs the Farmers arkets
11.45 Thrales Restaurant: Anthony Froggatt of successful Staffordshire based Just Oils will talk through his retail journey and supplying large retailers
12.30 Locally sourced lunch prepared by award winning chef, Simon Smith of Thrales
1.30 Sarah Gayton – ‘Taste of the Moorlands’ – how she runs her own bakery and how she uses and sells the ‘local’ concept.
2.15 Simon Smith, patron of Thrales will conclude the afternoon with an exciting cookery demonstration, discussion and advice on recipe development for your product, and pro’s and con’s of selling food to restaurants and eating places.
