West Midlands Farm Health Planning Initiative
Thursday, 22nd October 2009 Arthur Rank Centre, Stoneleigh Park 7pm – 9pm
The Farm Health Planning Initiative is a programme funded in the West Midlands under the Rural Development Plan for England. It will partially fund the creation of living and active herd and flock health plans on farms in the West Midlands. This is linked to a small capital investment programme.
How does it work?
The farmer will prepare a farm health plan with a vet to enable the assessment of priority health and welfare issues.
An action plan to remedy these key problem areas will be set up.
Future training requirements for the farmer and staff will be identified
Investment in equipment on the farm which could improve performance in the main health issues identified (not day to day equipment).
Opportunity to apply for a 40% grant of up to £62,500 for specified items of equipment as identified through the farm health plan.
The Health plan will be monitored by future vet visits.
Would you like to know more?
