Wind Turbine Open Day

Wednesday 17th March 2010, 11am & 2pm

BECL, a Shrewsbury based renewable energy specialist and environmental consultancy, are hosting a wind turbine open day, featuring their Vertical Axis turbine demonstration model, at a site near Shrewsbury.

Vertical axis wind turbines are a cheap and effective way of producing electricity from renewable energy. They are also well suited to many rural locations such as farms, local business and homes.

The open day comprises of sessions where we receive interested parties and present to them details of obtaining planning permission, installing a turbine and the possibility of receiving grants and other financial incentives, such as Feed In Tariffs. We also let the visitors see and hear the turbine in action so that when they leave they have a better knowledge of wind turbines, their costs and their benefits.
