16th September 2010 - Woodfuel Quality Standards Course

Ignite is an innovative training programme of practical seminars and interactive workshops with a focus on the woodfuel supply chain. Ignite is designed for those wanting to know more about woodfuel and to equip new and existing woodfuel businesses with the skills and knowledge required to meet the increasing demand from this growing market. All Ignite courses are run by approved instructors with technical expertise in the woodfuel sector.

The Woodfuel Quality Standards course is designed to give wood-fuel suppliers and large scale end users a better understanding of the various standards and regulations applied to solid biofuels. It includes practical sessions on sampling and measurement.

Cost: £75 with LandSkills funding, £150 without.

These courses can be subsidised through the LandSkills programme. To be eligible for funding you must work in the West Midlands region, be employed or self employed, and spend at least 50% of your time in primary production in the forestry sector, or be farmers with woodland on your holding, or be gamekeepers with woodland management responsibilities.
